[ loudmouth mobile phone users ]
Sick of hearing morons yapping on phones in restaurants, buses, etc?
Download these, print them and hand them to the idiots
[ The wonderful world of 1 ]
Benford's Law predicts that in random or naturally-derived set of numbers, numbers that begin with the numeral 1 will appear more often than other numbers. It has widespread application.
This little jigger lets you test it
[ codes used by retailers to mark their cost price on price tags ]
The world CHARLESTON is handy for deciphering price tags in Longs Drugstores.
photos of face transplant.
This is more groundbreaking than it might seem. I noticed recently a case where a witness was told they did not really see a criminal because they did not see their face. We can see all of a person except for their face, but apparently that is not enough to identify them. Lots to think about here (and a long walk needed to sort it out)
I built this Space Elevator on a swamp. They said I was mad. It sank into the swamp. I built another one. That burnt down, fell over and then sank into the swamp. But this Space Elevator stayed up
Whoooaaaa.. vertigo
[ tell him he's dreamin' ]
The shack that appeared in the classically awful australian movie The Castle is for sale.
" we're goin' to Bonnie Doon"
Risk
risk and intelligence. interesting. but validity?
[ better than the real thing ]
Fruit.
Geometrically shaped fruit (and no, not the usual spheres etc)
[ the many moods of the mindless ]
There are several people who are termed "celebrities" whose fame is not due to their mental prowess.
One such person is Paris Hilton.
This wonderful animation of real photos shows the range of her facial expressions. It covers the full range, from A to A.
Another person with questionable reason for existence is shown here in the same way.
Hugh Grant is the next obvious candidate.
Also shown: http://orly-dcfe.ytmnd.com/ , http://kswizzle.ytmnd.com/ http://facialsegal.ytmnd.com/ (and of course the all-time great, that scary Spanish girl)
[ don't let your children grow up to be an inspector, if your surname is Sands ]

Normal service has been restored. Current body uptime 10 days.
For those who wish to visit, an overview of the Hell Blues Festival in Hell, Norway.
[ there is a sucker born every day: this guy believes there are millions ]
The Mile Wall: a mile-wide webpage wall. Prepare for a scroll in the park.
"Permanent space on the wall starts at as little as 1 dollar for a square inch. Doing so you are helping to build the longest single page in internet history! We only need to go 63,360 inches until that goal is fulfilled so help create a fun, strange, and really long web site."
"The Mile Wall has a reduced inch system so that it’s more visible on smaller resolutions" HO HO HO
{life-preserving fictions ]
What fictional beliefs do you need for daily life? Check out these
"I must believe that all dogs will go to heaven. " WTF? Isn't that a rhyme nmemonic used to tune a banjo or something?
"I have to continue going to college and maintaining my grades because, if I do, I will be able to accomplish my dreams and become an important political figure. I have to believe that, because the thought of waisting so many years in schools and spending such a vast amount of education with the result of living my life as a low-paid, unrecognized person that makes a minimal impact on the world is just too painful" Three words: You Poor Bastard
[ Calculus Illustrated ]
Calculus.
Calculus taught by swimsuit models. In bikinis.
Yes, it's Bikini Calculus
Not so sure that it's been well-thought out, but there are some classic moments (and many more poor jokes).
[ merry pranksters ]
The Economist is seeking the best-ever prank.
A collection of Myspace blogs belonging to people who have since died. Clearly this will only increase.
[ you can fool some of the people all of the time ]
Mr Cliff Pickover is rising very rapidly in my estimation. He is a very clever man with a wicked sense of humour. I envy him.
Rather than mock people, he has allowed people to reveal their own gullibility; the comments for this little "experiment" really make one wonder if democracy is such a good idea. The fact that so many people spent so long.. (or, perhaps the comments are just fiction).
Very clever, and says a lot about our society.
